Wireless phone service is everywhere! It’s not too long ago to remember a time when cellular were these big units where you had to be within certain parameters or you got no signal and the units themselves had handsets which held big batteries that only lasted about thirty minutes; you basically looked like a Martian or some sort of bio nuclear agent testing for radiation; all you’d need is that big helmet and you were set!
But wireless phone service has become the norm; in fact, if you DON’T have a cell and wireless phone service, you’re looked down upon. What do you mean you don’t have one? What’s the best way to reach you? What if I need to get a hold of you now?! Thus the cellular generation was born. That’s, I bet, what this generation will be known as; kids growing up today, they all are being brought up with and integrated into cellular and all that goes with it; cell, text, paging; if they need someone all they need to do is flip open their wireless phone and they’re a phone call away.
It’s easy to compare wireless phone service just based strictly on things that are quantitative; measurable statistics like how much does it cost every month? What kind of deals do you get with family? But it’s often the non-qualifiers that are the most important and cause the most ridiculous superstitions, but behind that stigma is a level of truth. For example, what is the wireless company your friends all have? They can often make or break your decisions about wireless service. If most all your friends are with one company and that company offers free calling “in network” then this can be the decider. Another qualifier which you may have no real knowledge of is the service; the only instincts we use when judging service and coverage in general and where we live and play in specific is heresy.
In general though, in all fairness, it’s tough to decide what the best wireless phone service provider even could be. Verizon wireless phone service plans are known to be among the best, but what about an upstart like Alltel wireless phone service? Or an even more arcane name like Centennial wireless cellular phone service? Each of these three could be of equal quality; however with name recognition and the branding that’s gone on in America for hundreds of years; we go with what we know. Whether it’s Levi’s Jeans, Coke a’ Cola or wireless phone service.
